The Abbwell Group is seeking a qualified and compassionate Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dedicated team of Counsellors and support professionals.

About The Abbwell Group
You work in a calm rural setting on a 70 acre property. The team provides counselling, equine-assisted therapy and behaviour support under the NDIS. You help people build practical skills, improve daily functioning and increase independence.
Role Purpose
You deliver Behaviour Support services that follow NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements. You develop behaviour support plans that reduce restrictive practices, build capacity and support safer, more stable environments for participants and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete functional behaviour assessments using evidence-based methods.
- Develop Behaviour Support Plans with clear strategies, measurable outcomes and risk considerations.
- Provide training to families, carers and support workers so they can follow the plan.
- Work closely with counsellors, equine therapists, support coordinators and allied health providers.
- Monitor participant progress, update plans and provide written reports.
- Support safe reduction of restrictive practices in line with the NDIS Commission rules.
- Maintain accurate records that meet NDIS compliance standards.
- Deliver services on site at Willow Park, in the community, online or at participant homes.
- Help participants build emotional regulation, communication and daily living skills.
- Promote a trauma-informed, person-centred and capacity-building approach.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related field.
- Knowledge of functional behaviour assessment.
- Experience supporting people with disability, autism or complex behavioural needs.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Knowledge of NDIS Behaviour Support Practice Standards.
- Current registration or eligibility to register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening.
- Current driver’s licence.
