NDIS funding periods break your plan into smaller chunks (usually every 3 months) to help you manage your money better and make sure it lasts the full plan. Some supports, like Home and Living, may be released monthly. Unused funds generally carry over to the next period but not to the next plan.

Where Can I See My Funding Periods?
You can view them in your NDIS plan document, on the my NDIS participant portal, or in the my NDIS app.

Does It Change My Plan?
No. Funding periods don’t change your total budget or how long your plan lasts.

How Long Do They Last?
Most funding periods are every 3 months, but some supports (like Home and Living) might be released monthly.

What Happens to Unused Funds?
If you don’t use all your funds in a period, they usually carry over to the next funding period in the same plan. They won’t carry over into a new plan.
