There is so much more to horses than just riding! Horses require quite a bit of care and management and everything you do to care for your horse is horsemanship.

It is important that every rider know the basic riding position and have skills in handling their horse. Horsemanship includes skills like the rider’s appearance and position in the saddle and their ability to control their horse.
